Chile requests of Argentina extradition of former guerrilla in assassination of Senator Jaime Guzmanextradition from Arg

The Chilean government today reiterated the request to Argentina to facilitate the extradition of ex-guerrilla Sergio Apablaza Galvarino, accused of involvement in the assassination of Senator Jaime Guzmán right in 1991. “We hope that both countries can respect and carry out what is proper and legal institutions that do not interfere with political factors,” he told reporters the government spokesman, Andrew Chadwick. The minister went to the General Cemetery to participate in the ceremony commemorating the murder of Guzman, leader and founder of the Independent Democratic Union (UDI) and ideologue of the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet.
