First Case of E. Coli in Colombia

•Although cases of the bacterial disease were believed to be only in Europe, there is one Colombian patient currently in the medical center of Montería with an E. Coli infection.
•El Espectador states that the family of the patient does not know how he might have contracted the disease, but his wife recalls that he did attend the Festival Vallento de Valledupar during which he had contact with hundreds of people.
•The patient has been promised timely treatment and a transfer to a more specialized medical center, but so far little has been done and he will have to wait until next Thursday for a transfer. Read Article
