Brazilian President Rousseff Establishes Federal Microenterprise Department

On April 1, 2013, O Estado de São Paulo reported that Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff signed into law this morning the creation of the Ministry of Micro and Small Enterprise, the 39th ministry she is responsible for creating since 2011. The ministry will begin with a budget of approximately R$7.9 million and will employ a Minister, two executive secretaries, and 66 commissioned spots. The ministry will take charge of small enterprise and the sale of small arts and crafts, responsibilities that used to fall under the Ministry of Development, Industry and External Commerce (MDIC).  Read Article
