Brazil to implement strict quality controls on imports from China

Brazil plans to impose strict quality controls on imports from China and other Asian nations to prevent an influx of cheap goods, the newspaper O Globo yesterday. Border control would ensure that imports from Asia, particularly China, meeting the standards established by the National Institute of Metrology (Inmetro) and meets the safety standards applied to domestic products at retail.
