Brazil: Police Seize Drugs from Bus Traveler in Mato Grosso do Sul

On January 31, 2013, the State Police of Mato Grosso do Sul reported that its Frontier Operations Department (DOF) seized a cache of drugs during a routine search in the region of Ponto Porã.  The suspect, identified by the initials C.S., was carrying two bags containing close to 17 kilograms of marijuana and half a kilogram of cocaine.  The suspect said that he obtained the drugs in Paraguay and was aiming to take the marijuana to Rondonópolis, Mato Grosso, and the cocaine to Campo Grande, the state capital of Mato Grosso do Sul.  The suspect and the drugs were taken to the local police delegation in Ponto Porã.  Read Article
