Brazil, Growing pockets of crack in Baixada Fluminense

They begin arriving in early evening. These are children, adults and squalid women, some pregnant women, who form a battalion of crack addicts who walk toward the sidewalk stunned the parking lot of a supermarket in the center of Duque de Caxias, in Baixada Fluminense. Under Secretaries of Social Promotion and community councils, the scene is repeated elsewhere in the 13 municipalities in the region of 4 million inhabitants. Read Article
