BRAZIL, 80 dead during police strike, Army takes control of Bahia

Army troops took control of the state of Bahia, the fourth most populous and one of the most tourist of Brazil, following a military police strike that lasted five days and unleashed a wave of violence with 81 dead, officials said Sunday. Some 2,600 members of the Army, Navy and National Security Force were sent Friday to restore security area of Bahia at the refusal of the military to end the protest against a wage increase, which began on Wednesday and it was declared illegal by the courts.Read Article
