Bolivia Initiates Plan Against Child Labor Exploitation

On May 29, 2013 La Prensa reported the Bolivian Ministry of Labor along with several other organizations has initiated a campaign targeting the labor exploitation of children and adolescents and domestic labor for younger children. The campaign is set to begin on June 12.
The child labor specialist for the Ministry of Labor, Mabel Duran Bolivia, noted that 848,000 children aged 5 to 17 are engaged in some economic activity. Of these children, 493,000 are under the age of 14 and 79.6 percent are engaged in hazardous work. Read Article
