Authorities launch campaign against child sexual exploitation

On Tuesday, the Ombudsman of Panama and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) launched the “Campaign Against the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents”, which seeks to put a stop to this crime and promote a culture of zero tolerance for this crime among the Panamanian population. The Ombudsman, Ricardo Vargas, said in his speech that there is still a lack of awareness on this topic and a poor capacity on the part of the society to identify conditions or practices that may involve the commission of this crime.
