Argentina willing to resume negotiations over the Falkland Islands

Argentina to the United Nations reiterated its willingness to resume negotiations with Britain to resolve the sovereignty dispute over the Falkland Islands, according to a letter distributed today the UN headquarters. The letter was sent to the organization’s secretary general Ban Ki-moon, upon completion of the Jan. 3 179 years of occupation of the southern archipelago by British forces drove out the native population.
