Amazonas, Brazil: Police Operation Confiscates R$40 million in Pirated Goods

acritica.uol.com.br reported on August 25, 2013 that 200 civil and military police officers of Operation “Safe Centre” in Manaus, Amazonas seized more than R$40 million worth of pirated goods. The operation is designed to combat the trade of smuggled products as well as tax envision at businesses that sell these products. The products were confiscated in the galleries of BBC Baré, Destack and Central and Amazonas Hotel. Police arrested a businessman known as one of the leaders distributing and smuggling the illegal goods from Paraguay to sell in Amazonas. Read Article
