France to destroy Venezuelan boats used for illegal fishing near French Guyana

Two boats bearing the Venezuelan flag were stopped by the French Navy Patrol near Kourou, off the coast of French Guyana. The captains on board the vessels were arrested for engaging in illegal fishing activities, El Universal reports. After the arrests, the captured fish were released into the ocean. The boats, which are currently held in the port of Larivot, will be destroyed by French forces. 15 vessels linked to illegal fishing have been intercepted since the beginning of 2012. Read Article
