4G private networks expected to be operational by mid-2015 in Ecuador

worldeinnews.com reported the government of Ecuador expects private 4G networks to be operational by mid-2015, state news agency Andes reported, citing the country’s strategic sectors minister Rafael Poveda. The official added that the government expects the deployment of 4G networks will take nearly 9 months. In June, Ecuador’s government had kicked off negotiations with mobile operators Claro and Movistar regarding 4G concessions. The government aims to award spectrum in the 1,900 MHz spectrum band for the provision of 4G services. State-run operator CNT already offers 4G LTE in the country. Read Article
