27 arrested so far 2012 brining in illegal goods from Colombia to Ecuador

There are 27 catches or seizures in the first quarter of this year.

The smugglers bring goods without paying duty and enter neighboring Colombia from clandestine step, in order to evade the controls, said Pedro Guerrero, head of Customs Yahuarcocha Detachment.

MERCHANDISE. Yahuarcocha detachment personnel made operational by means of first and second order, which identifies the highest circulation of trucks and vans that bring illegal goods.
Auto parts, clothing, handicrafts, mobile phones, cigarettes, medicine, hats, shoes, among other items, are part of the seizures.
The first seizure of the year was recorded on 13 January, with an approximate value of two thousand dollars. Carchi is reported to have five clandestine border crossing and Imbabura has two.Read Article
