Mexico: laws changed to criminalize adulteration, contamination, alteration of alcoholic beverages

The Senate endorsed, with changes, criminalize serious adulteration, counterfeiting, contamination or alteration of any alcoholic beverage and distribution. Amendments to the General Health Law and the Federal Criminal Code of Criminal Procedure, adopted with 72 votes, establish penalties punishable by six months to three years in prison who forges or counterfeits alcohol, and three to seven years in prison whom the alter. Also, be imposed from five to nine years imprisonment and a fine of 500 to a thousand days of minimum wage to people who pollute drinking. Read Article
