Argentina: Tourist from UK found dead in Tierra del Fuego

A 24-year-old British tourist who was missingsince Monday was found dead in a mountainous area of Tierra del Fuego. His corpse was located about 20 kilometers northeast of Ushuaia . A group of climbers discovered his body and informed Civil Defense authorities. The victm’s body was located on the route to the Ojo del Albino glacier and a half hour walk north of the Esmeralda lagoon.

The young man, who was carrying documentation, is identified as David Addam Minn, from London. He had left the Aoniken hostel, where he stayed and did not return. Management reported the Brit left his belongings, and they reported his disappearance.

The Scientific Police and the Special Services Division is coducting an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Preliminary reports believe the victim may suffered a fall and or injury that kept him from continuing his hike.

Mr. Minn traveled alone to Argentina and wanted to explore the “end of the world”. His body was foud in asteep area that requires great climbing efforts and skills to reach the glacier. Even towards the end of summer, a layer of ice can form on the polished rocks, which further complicates the climb. Read Article
