Wave of violence over the weekend in Guatemala, 24 murders, 15 injuries

Experts believe the unabated flow of weapons in the country is a a major contributing factor.
Prensalibre.com reported that 24 people were shot to death and at least 15 were injured between last Saturday and yesterday, in different areas of the country, which is ranked by experts from a negative balance that could be caused by the abundant flow of arms in the hands of criminals and civilians. According to reports from relief agencies and the National Civil Police (PNC), the majority of events occurred in the metropolitan area, especially in the capital, Amatitlán, Villa Nueva, and Chinautla Mixco.
