Venezuelan expats in Ecuador approximate 32,000, 16,000 have legal status

The group won in November 2015 legal status by the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion (MIES). According to its leaders, in Ecuador there are 16,000 Venezuelans and legalized estimate that have a similar number of irregular citizens. Most Venezuelans living in Ecuador would be located mostly Quito, Guayaquil and Cuenca. And to a lesser extent in Machala and in the Amazon. While in economic terms it is estimated that the majority of Venezuelans who have come are doctors, teachers, lawyers and engineers. However, most are small and medium entrepreneurs in gastronomic business. Thus, the organization seeks to define and implement policies and strategies for including people vulnerable. Elena Graterol, director of the Association, explained that not only work with Venezuelans living in Ecuador.
