Venezuela: Severe shortage of Cancer Treating Drugs

Patients with breast cancer urged the president of the Venezuelan Institute of Social Security (IVSS) to serve more than 3,000 women who did not have the drugs to treat serious diseases.

The representative of the Coalition of Organizations for the Right to Health and Life (Codevida), Francisco Valencia, said there are more than 200 thousand people in critical health conditions are affected by the shortage. “There is no way to respond to patients because the drugs are not achieved,” he added.

Valencia said it is necessary that humanitarian aid mechanisms are activated to address this crisis. “No longer is no more waiting, people are desperate and organizations reserves are at zero,” he said in an interview with Union Radio. Read Article
