Valparaiso, Chile: Woman arrested; sold drugs in the shadow of National Congress

Cristina Reyes Peterson, also known as “La Loca Cristina,” was arrested in Chile with 124 packets of pressed marijuana, 103 of cocaine paste, and six of cocaine hydrochloride. She is known to have sold drugs in the Plaza O’Higgens in Valparaiso, which is located in the shadow of the National Congress building. She had left her home in Playa Ancha on July 10, 2012 and boarded a bus to Valparaiso, La Nacion reports. She was arrested after descending from the vehicle, when officials performed an identity check. Police later searched her home, where large quantities of cocaine paste were found, as well as $100,000 in small denominations. Read Article
