Uruguay beef exports up in 2011

According to data from the National Meat Institute, Venezuela, Brazil and Israel have increased the amount of beef they import from Uruguay in the first half of 2011 since last year, per elpais.com.uy. In Israel, imports increased 12.8% and revenue was up 46%, Venezuela import was up 37.1% and revenue up 32.3% and in Brazil there was a 20% and 60% increase respectively. The revenue increase is due to the thicker, high quality cuts being produced by Uruguay and by an increased demand for frozen meat.
