Toluca, Mexico: Suspect Arrested for Trafficking Deaf Mexican Women

On August 6, 2013 UPI Español Noticias reported the arrest of Sergio Pérez García on charges of trafficking women for labor exploitation. Sergio Pérez García, a deaf and mute Mexican man, allegedly used social networks to contact three women with similar physical disabilities, one from Guadalajara and two from Queretaro. After the victims fell in love with him, Pérez García tricked them into moving to Toluca to live with him, he then forced them to earn money for him as street beggars. Police have since rescued the three victims. An anonymous tip led to the suspect’s arrest. Read Article
