Tenancingo, Mexico Becoming Country’s Sex Slavery Capital

Posted on July 3, 2013 • Filed under: Crime, Human Smuggling, Mexico

On June 30, 2013 SDP Noticias commented on a recent expose published in El Pais (Spain) on the prevalence of human trafficking in Tenancingo, Mexico. According to the expose, entitled “The Village of the Children Pimps,” one of the main activities (and aspirations) of those living in Tenancingo is human trafficking. Moreover, the trafficker profession is hereditary, “passed from father to son, from generation to generation.” Also, the family unit is responsible for the business and takes care of any resultant children, who then become potential future pimps.

According to SDP Noticias, this is not the first expose on sex exploitation in Tenancingo, with two articles published in May 2012 entitled “Journey to Tenancingo, the Sex Slavery Capital of Mexico” and “Tenancingo, Tlaxcala is the Human Trafficking Capital.” Read Article
