Support for Protests in Brazil Against Increased Bus Fare Spreads to Europe

Terra reported on June 16, 2013 that about 600 people gathered together in Berlin, Germany to support protests in Brazil against the increased bus fares; especially in São Paulo. Social networks organized the demonstration. Other acts of support took place in Dublin, Ireland. It is reported that other acts of support will take place in the U.S. Canada, Europe and Latin American sometime this week. In an interview with one of the organizers of the protesters, a woman stated this act was to support friends in São Paulo who have been beaten by police in response to these protests. Other participants claim it is to show how policy is made in Brazil and how democratic acts are still oppressed by the police force. Read Article
