Santiago Chile: Billions of peso stolen in heist of Brinks security truck at International Airport

Billion Peso Robbery at the Airport: reported a robbery of a BRINKS truck took place in the cargo wing of the Arturo Merino Benítez Airport this morning, an estimated CL$6 billion was stolen. The eight robbers were said to be heavily armed and proceeded to toss ‘miguelitos’ out the windows as they fled the scene. The BRINKS was under private security supervision due to jurisdiction laws that state only internal airport security forces can handle manners within the premises. Police are investigating a burned vehicle left on Ruta 68, and also an abandoned van in the northern sector of the capital to find any connection with the robbery. Read Article
