Salta, Argentina: Two Trafficking Victims Rescued in Separate Operations

On August 26, 2013 Informate Salta Noticias reported the rescue of two female trafficking victims in two separate police operations carried out in Salta. In the first case, a 19-year-old girl from San Ramón de la Nueva Orán was rescued in Puerto Deseado, Santa Cruz. The victim had moved to Puerto Deseado after accepting what she thought to be a job as a factory worker, but instead was forced into prostitution.

In the second case, a 16-year-old boy from Apolinario Saravia was found being exploited for labor on a farm near the city of La Plata in Buenos Aires Province. Both victims have already been returned to their families. Read Article
