Rio Tercero, Argentina: Religious Group Investigated for Human Trafficking

On August 16, 2013 Día a Día Noticias reported the criminal court of Córdoba conducted a series of raids on the homes of employees of the Pueblo Grande church in Rio Tercero. The raids included the home of the protestant church’s pastor, Marcelo Nieva. Nieva is accused of leading a “sect” that allegedly holds most of its followers in a state of involuntary servitude through fraud, illegal deprivation of freedom, conspiracy and physical injury. The complaint also alleges that church members were stripped of their property and separated from the family. Read Article
