Red Cross opens first national blood bank in Quito Ecuador

As of November 5, the country will have the first national blood bank (blood center) created by the Ecuadorian Red Cross at a cost of three million dollars, funded by the Ministry of Public Health.
The building will be located in Carapungo, north of the capital. This will become the parent of the 35 existing national banks and also will be responsible for validating blood product before use, for which it has modern equipment. In the next five years, the Ecuadorian Red Cross must return the amount invested in the work, blood product.
