Rafael Correa, states removal of term limits for presidency to improve Ecuador’s democracy

telesurtv.net reported President Rafael Correa has issued a renewed call for legislators to dump presidential term limits, just days after the constitutional court backed the controversial measure. Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa stated Monday the removal of term limits on his office would improve the country’s democracy.
“I believe in the power of love, not the love of power,” Correa said during a speech in the southern city of Cuenca. Under Ecuador’s current constitution, the president and other public office holders are restricted to two terms. Read Article
