Quito Ecuador: Over 200,000 dollars in counterfeit currency seized in one week by police

Police operations conducted in this week allowed the seizure of $ 205,200 counterfeit dollars and the arrest of 12 people who allegedly tried to sell them. On Wednesday, seven people were arrested in the city of Quito adulterated with $ 125,000, while on Tuesday were arrested five others with fake $ 80,200 denominations. In the raid on Wednesday in three areas of the capital were arrested Jaime José B., Charles B. Edison, Stephen M., Esteban Andres P., Marco Vinicio S., Maria Gabriela R., yVíctor Hugo L., who also were in possession of three vehicles, two handguns, 156 different caliber ammunition, an explosive charge of pentolite, various accessories, vehicle parts and goods of dubious origin. On Tuesday, November 6 were arrested in the La Mariscal, center north of Quito, José Carlos A., Luis Alfonso de la T., Jose Enrique S., Dario V. Alfredo, and Marco Antonio C., carrying 745 tickets $ 100 ($ 74,500), 285 $ 20 tickets ($ 5,700), $ 230, five cell phones and five wallets with personal documents of the detainees, who along with the evidence were taken to the Judicial Police of Pichincha for relevant research.
