Quito Ecuador: New airport opening postponed to February 20, 2013

The inauguration of the new airport in Quito, Mariscal Sucre, in Tababela start commercial operations on February 20 next year, they said the mayor, Augusto Barrera. This approach should be presented to the Full Council to establish legal processes to justify this decision. This decision was taken after a meeting between the mayor Augusto Barrera, Quiport authorities and Civil Aviation and representatives of chambers of commerce, airlines and transport companies and tourism. The Mayor welcomed the invitation, after Cumbayá neighborhood leaders, and Puembo Tumbaco, who three months ago requested the emergency declaration of the routes between Quito and Tababela, and the requirement of the productive sectors calling for a postponement, arguing the lack of a direct route and the dates approach of increased demand for flights.
