Police Seize Over Half a Ton of Drugs in Minas Gerais, Brazil

On March 15, 2013, R7 reported that state police in Minas Gerais seized over 600 kilograms of marijuana in the city of Ituiutuba, about 700 kilometers west of Belo Horizonte, the capital.  The drugs were discovered in an abandoned car.  Police believe some of the drugs had been buried, as the packages appeared to be dirty.  The motorist managed to escape through a thicket and is believed to still be on the loose.  No one has been arrested yet in connection to the find.  Read Article
