Police Operation in Bahia, Brazil, Nets over One Ton of Drugs

On March 14, 2013, A Tarde reported that police in the state of Bahia seized over one ton of illegal drugs from a group of traffickers in Santo Estevão, along federal highway BR-116. Police arrested six men and two women and seized four cars. All of the cars were equipped with transmission radios. The drugs were intended to be sold at Feira de Santana, about 100 kilometers northwest of Salvador, the capital. All of the seized items were taken to the local police delegation in Feira de Santana, and the traffickers will face drug trafficking charges.  Read Article
