Police in Paraguay seize 726 pounds of cocaine in private port; Bound for Italy

Anti-narcotics police in Paraguay seized 726 pounds of cocaine in the private port of Caacupemí, in Asuncion. According to El Nuevo Heraldo, the drugs were found hidden inside pieces of wood in containers bound for Italy. Police have identified and arrested those responsible for the shipment, though their identities have not been released to the press. Officials believe Paraguay is a transit country for cocaine produced in South America. Read Article
