Police from 27 countries will assist in security for the Summit of the Americas

Troops of the United States, Latin America and Europe will ensure the safety of the 33 presidents.

With the participation of police officers from 27 countries, was designed security scheme which is being used for the development of the Summit of the Americas which starts formally on Monday, April 9.

General of Police of Colombia, Ricardo Restrepo, responsible for coordinating the Unified Command Post for the security of the summit , said “we have deployed a security plan with the support of 32 police agencies in 27 countries, including organizations like the American Police Community (Ameripol), the European Security Office (Europol) and the Latin American and Caribbean Community Police Intelligence (CLACIP), among others, to ensure maximum security with minimal discomfort. ”
