Police Discover Half a Ton of Drugs in São Paulo, Brazil, Bunker

On March 15, 2013, O Estado de São Paulo reported that police in the state of São Paulo have discovered close to a half a ton of drugs, along with 30 firearms, in a bunker in Juquitiba, a town about 78 kilometers from the city of São Paulo.  No one was arrested, and police were required to use a backhoe to gain access to the bunker.  Among the most important finds, police uncovered 424 kilograms of cocaine base, as well as close to 30 firearms.  All of the materials were taken to the central police station in São Paulo.  Read Article
