Peru, Sendero Luminosa strikes again

The Shining Path claimed another life this week. According to Info Región, Juan Carlos Romero Rojas, 21, was seized from his home in the village of Caimito Monday the 2nd, around midnight and was taken to nearby Pucayacu just hours later. There the Sendenistas bound his feet and shot Romero in the head by the side of the road. The body was found with signs placed around it by the Sendenistas accusing him of being an informant, deserving execution for his crime, and serving as a warning to others. For fear of retaliation family and friends of the victim have yet to give a statement, but have attended to the site off their loss. Read Article
