Peru reorganizes national police, 30 generals sent into retirement

The Peruvian government has initiated a reorganization of the police with an unexpected and radical step. In one stroke, 30 generals were sent into retirement on Sunday, including director general. While waiting for their occurrence future promotions (usually occur later this year), the staff of the institution is reduced to 26 officers of the highest rank.
