Peru, Police sentenced in conflict with Indigenous group in 2009

The military courts, police ruled the operational management of the confrontation between the indigenous and the National Police of Peru, which occurred on June 5, 2009 and left the balance of 34 Peruvians dead at Devil’s Curve in Bagua, Amazonas. According to the statement, Gen. Elias Muguruza Luis Delgado was convicted of “failure of performance of duty in operational role” at 36 months of deprivation of liberty with the character of suspended for two years. Read Article
