Peru: Police clash with drug traffickers guarding clandestine airfield

Tingo Maria. – cronicaviva.com.pe reported that police officers clashed with drug traffickers in the area known as Quebrada La Llorona Oxapampa district, Tingo Maria. The criminals used a clandestine airstrip to smuggle drugs abroad.
Drug traffickers opened fire when the police patrol arrived in the area. After the confrontation, the criminals managed to escape but left their weapons among which were AKM rifles, Fal and a submachine gun. It was also found for the preparation of materials narcotics. According to police information gatherer of drug shipments would trafficker known by the pseudonym ‘Loco’, who was in charge of transporting the drug to foreign aircraft. Read Article
