Peru, new routes, visitation rules planned for Machu Picchu

To meet the increasing demand of visitors to the Inca ancient citadel Machu Picchu, Peru’s Trade and Tourism Minister Jose Luis Silva plans to organize tourists into groups, according to pre-established routes and timetables. Machu Picchu was declared a Peruvian Historical Sanctuary in 1981, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983 and a New Seven Wonder of the World in 2007. Read Article
