Peru cancels purchase of air defense system from Northrop Grumman Consortium after pressure from China

The Ministry of Defense of Peru would have taken the decision to cancel the acquisition of Air Defense System, which was awarded in February to Northrop Grumman Consortium (USA), Rafael Advanced Defense Systems (Israel) and Bumar Group (Poland). The decision, according to unofficial information, respond to claims submitted by bidders, especially CPMIEC (China Precision Machinery Import-Export Corporation), who have argued that the Radar and Missile Systems to acquire not meet the technical specifications of the tender.
