Paraguay: police evict hunderds of peasants from a farm, weapons used

Paraguayan police on Monday evicted hundreds of peasants who had occupied since last Saturday night a farm in Guaira Falls, located in the east. More than 300 police officers used tear gas to vacate the property titled in the name of a Brazilian citizen, after the ultimatum expired prior to the eviction, sources with the local press.
On Saturday, eight peasants were wounded by gunfire from the police and private guards while attempting to occupy the site. Read Article
