Officials break up Colombia-United States drug trafficking ring

Authorities in Colombia and the United States captured three Colombians involved in a drug-trafficking ring that operated between Colombia and New York City. The suspects, identified as Juan Fernando Mejía Saldarriaga, Germán Darío Estrada Montoya, and Roberto Bustamante Ballesteros, are reported to be the main contacts of the ring. The drug network is believed to have trafficked around 20-15 kilos of drugs to New York each month. Their arrests in Medellin follow 15 months of intelligence work, Radio Santa Fe reports.
