Nicaragua: drug trafficking ring dismantled, shipping drugs in furniture for export

According to nicanoticias.com, police dismantled a gang that was engaged in drug trafficking from Costa Rica to Guatemala, by passing packets in the interiors of furniture moved and export goods from those nations, the government said Monday.

The head of the Directorate of Legal Aid, General Commissioner Glenda Zavala, told reporters that the capture took place during two operations that were conducted over the weekend in the northern departments of Estelí and Madriz, and that among the assets seized from Band members had drugs, guns and nearly $ 300,000 in cash.
