Miners trapped in Peru rescued

Nine workers trapped inside a mine in southern Peru have been rescued The nine miners who were trapped for days in a mine in the Ica region, were rescued alive from the bottom of one of the tunnels and received abroad by the President of the Republic, Ollanta Humala Tasso.

The workers walked out, visibly weakened, covered with blankets and wearing dark glasses to avoid damage to the eye due to total darkness in which they remained for seven days at the mine head in Black.

Upon his departure, which occurred at 07:00 hours, the head of state, the rescuers and the rescued miners raised their arms in triumph and raised a Peruvian flag with glee. Read Article
