Minas Gerais, Brazil: Operation to Prevent Criminal Activity Detains 55 Suspects

otempo.com.br reported on June 4, 2013 that Operation “Secure Currencies”; a joint
task conducted by various government agencies, detained 55 individuals in Minas Gerais in attempt to prevent the entry of drugs, weapons, explosives, and other illegal objects into the state. During the operation, 7,465 drivers were questioned and about 5,000 vehicles were stopped and searched. Police confiscated 176 kilos of marijuana, 12 grams of cocaine, cell phones, ammunition, and cash, among other items. Read Article
