Archaeologists from the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) have found two partially mummified bodies and one skeleton of Tarahumara (Rarámuri) ancestry in a large cave in the Chihuahuan mountains, Noticieros Televisa reports. The bodies are believed to be between 800 and 1000 years old and are part of a pre-Hispanic cemetery in which 10 mummies and 13 skeletons have been found in the last two years. The bodies exhibit signs of being naturally mummified, rather than intentionally. The remains were found with several objects used as offerings, including blankets and rugs. Read Article
