Mexico, plastics industry to grow 9 percent in 2011

The plastics industry expects to end 2011 with investment of 800 million billion dollars, that is, 200 million more than last year and a growth of 9 percent, and was announced by Eduardo Martínez, president of the National Plastic Industries Association (ANIPAC).
He explained that Mexico produces annually about 8.7 million tons of plastic, but only 20 percent of these are recycled, and there is no legislation to check much of this process.
