Mexico: Papaya growers establish export association

Since the outbreak of salmonella in 2011 that rocked Mexican papaya industry, exporters were forced to reevaluate their standards to keep the industry afloat. As a response to the needs of industry, AC Proexport Papaya was created last September to join several levels of the production chain. The director of the association, Anebella Lopez Gaxiola, said the group works with the biggest exporters of Mexico to keep the nation as the largest producer of such fruit. Read Article
